Film or Television Editors

Editors weave the different film or television shots (or “takes” as the industry calls them) into a coherent, ideally compelling, story and whole. Without editors, there is no final product. Because of that, editing is an indispensable part of film and television production and highly experienced editors can make good final cuts.  Whether you are an “established” editor or an aspirant, MediaFade invites you to start an account and upload your samples or, better, a reel. “Editing” comprises of two areas:

Types of Editors

Crafting a media product splits into film or television. Editing is crafting a cut that is coherent and emotionally engages an audience so requires impeccable visual talent and creativity. Editors use their visual talent to ensure every scene flows seamlessly and that there are excellent visual effects and transitions to deliver the appropriate pacing and narrative structure. There is film editing and television editing.

Film editing comprises of:

  • Feature Films
  • Feature Documentaries
  • Short Films
  • Music Videos

Television editing requires a balance of efficiency and creativity. Television editing entails very tight deadlines, including commercial breaks and scheduling limits. If you edit any of the following, then MediaFade encourages you to upload your work.

  • Television Series Editing
  • Reality Shows
  • Sitcoms & Dramas
  • Pilot Episodes

Film or Television Editors Tell “the Story”

No matter how great the takes are, editors stitch them into “a story.” That way, editors can almost decide the tone of the final cut, the pace, the atmosphere, and other elements. Editors see and create what the very audience sees, not what a producer or even the actor sees or “delivers.” Editors “sees” the product that is greater than the mere sum of the individual “takes.” In the age of globalization, you can edit Instagram reels, website videos, and corporate trailers– not simply “traditional” forms of film or television.

Regardless of your level or how many projects you have edited, MediaFade proactively reaches out to established and emerging editors to engage them and invite them to join. If you would like to search for any editor, of a particular genre, in the United States, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates, find one you would like and email founder@mediafade.com.
